Pan and zoom anywhere — ground outside the hatched boundary hasn't been
built on this server, so layers, masks, and the hex grid only draw inside it.
Inspect layers▸
Raw values, no colour-scale interpretation — this is
how a new layer gets looked at before anything is built on top of it. With two or more
features added, the map counts how many of the bands each hexagon falls inside; “Show
this layer” switches to any one feature's own values instead. Showing a single layer,
only its own band hides what falls outside — the other added layers are dimmed in the
list and take no part in what's drawn. Showing the count, every band colours it instead
and nothing is hidden.
Mask▸
Filters the layer above — elevation band, distance to a
foot way, forest track or paved road, land ownership. Applies to whatever layer is
currently shown; turning a filter off shows the exact same data that was there the
whole time.
Profiles▸
A profile is a named snapshot of the features you added,
their bands, which one is shown, and the masks — not the area or the map position, so the
same profile can be loaded over any area. Saved in this browser only: clearing site data
deletes them. Saving under an existing name replaces that profile.
